(Text/Source: Hai'an Daily) Upon entering Yazhou Modern Agricultural Park, the site of Tiancheng Group's modern agricultural project bustles with activity. Automated equipment visible on the monitoring system screens caught the reporter's attention. The intelligent feeding system automatically adjusts feed supply based on the growth needs of laying hens, while the environmental control system maintains constant temperature and humidity within the chicken coops, providing a comfortable living environment for the birds. Xu Shangli, the site manager, explained that these systems help enhance both egg production capacity and egg quality.
Located within the Yazhou Modern Agricultural Industrial Demonstration Park, the Jiangsu Tiancheng Yazhou Eco-Smart Laying Hen Industrial Park spans over 250 mu (approximately 16.7 hectares). It was invested in and constructed in October 2022 by Jiangsu Tiancheng Technology Group Co., Ltd., a nationally recognized key agricultural enterprise. With a total investment of 500 million yuan and a gross floor area of approximately 90,000 square meters, the project plans to construct modern chicken houses, feed processing workshops, deep processing centers, R&D testing centers, and an egg culture exhibition hall. It will be equipped with world-class digital and intelligent farming equipment from the Netherlands and Germany, egg processing machinery, and self-developed IoT robots. Recently, the Haian Tiancheng Egg Industry Full Value Chain was designated as a provincial-level major project.
“The Eco-Smart Egg Chicken Industrial Park project is progressing as planned. The main structures of the first phase's six modern chicken houses have been completed, and equipment imported from abroad or produced by wholly foreign-owned enterprises has been fully installed,” explained Xu Shangli. “Xu Shangli explained that after production commenced, the first batch of laying hens transitioned from pullets to laying houses by the end of December 2013. ”Each poultry house follows a standard configuration of five rows and eight tiers, with a capacity of 105,600 birds. Currently, the farm houses 320,000 laying hens, and egg production has already begun. Each poultry house is equipped with patrol robots and sensors at key points, requiring only one operator per house for control and operation."
Through surveillance footage, reporters also observed an egg collection system nearing operational readiness. “Using monitoring cameras and automated egg-picking equipment, eggs are systematically collected and processed through cleaning, disinfection, and grading. This system not only enhances collection efficiency but also reduces wastage, ensuring stable market supply,” stated Xu Shangli.
In recent years, China's agricultural sector has been progressively transitioning toward modernization and intelligent operations. Against this backdrop, smart farming has emerged as a new industry trend. Jiangsu Tiancheng Technology Group keeps pace with the times, focusing on technological innovation to vigorously develop the smart farming industry. Modern farming facilities, rigorous management processes, and advanced farming techniques have injected new momentum into the egg industry. “The new egg processing production line will officially commence operations in one week. This line adopts internationally advanced processing technology, achieving automation in egg washing, disinfection, grading, and packaging,” Xu Zhijiang, General Manager of Jiangsu Tiancheng Yazhou Modern Agriculture Co., Ltd., informed reporters that the entire project comprises 12 chicken houses, with completion expected by the end of 2024. Upon full operation, the facility is projected to maintain a year-round flock of 1.5 million laying hens, produce 30,000 tons of branded eggs annually, process 28,000 tons of deep-processed egg products, and achieve annual sales of 600 million yuan.
“We will firmly adhere to our strategic positioning of ‘becoming a leader in the egg-laying chicken industry,’ driving integrated development that combines smart farming, deep processing, logistics and sales, and cultural tourism. We will focus on creating new endogenous momentum for leapfrog development across the entire egg-laying chicken industry chain, propelling digital innovation and iterative upgrades in the sector to new heights, and ushering in a new chapter in the era of digital smart farming 4.0 for egg-laying chickens,” " Xu Zhijiang stated that the successful operation of the smart farming project will not only enhance the company's core competitiveness but also have a profound impact on China's egg industry chain. In the future, the group will continue to increase investment in the smart farming sector to drive the innovative development of the egg industry.
